It was a year ago this month that Irish golfer Darren Clarke’s world fell apart.

The Co. Down man had the world at his feet. Ranked among the 20 best golfers on the planet, he was a millionaire sportsman at the top of his game, popular with all of his colleagues while the constant good humour he displayed on the golf course made him popular with fans.
