| Why the Poppy Must Transcend
It is that time of the year again when everybody in Britain seems to
be wearing a poppy.
Once it was the preserve of the elderly and the patriotic — now every
politician, newsreader, the great and the good and the not so great and
the good are all wearing one.
There was a time too when poppies were worn on Remembrance Day alone
but now the season for wearing them stretches out for nearly a month.
