Boyzone star celebrates after low-key wedding

He was a boyband heartthrob, a reckless rally driver and a reluctant reality TV star but his latest role is as a devoted husband.

Former Boyzone band member Shane Lynch has celebrated his marriage at a lavish €500,000 reception in Kinnitty Castle in Co. Offaly.

He and long-term girlfriend Sheena White had already tied the knot at a secret civil ceremony in Kent in England a fortnight ago.

It is the second time down the aisle for Lynch.

His first marriage was to Eternal singer Easther Bennett but they divorced in 2000.

The former pop star has been very public in his affections for his new wife after walking off the set of Celebrity Love Island in 2006 to be with her and announcing their engagement on TV show Loose Women earlier this year

At the same time his sister Edel was celebrating her marriage also in the lavish Kinnitty Castle.

While pictures of the Lynch wedding are under lock and key due to an exclusive magazine deal, RTÉ viewers will get the chance to see all the action behind the scenes.

The couple’s two big days will form the basis for a three-part documentary which RTÉ says will be a real eye-opener.

“It promises to be a must-see observational documentary series with all the glamour, drama and glitz of a showbiz nuptial bash,” said a statement from the broadcaster.

Shane & Sheena: A Boyz Own Wedding will air on September 11.
