Passport Processing

By Debbie McGoldrick

NOW that American citizens need to use a passport to re-enter the country by air from Canada and Mexico prior to January 23, a government issued photo ID would have sufficed there’s been a knock on effect on the time it takes to obtain a U.S. passport.

It can now take up to 10 weeks to receive a new passport, or to renew an old one. Those with imminent travel plans should take note and make it a point to take care of any outstanding passport issues sooner rather than later.

For more on U.S. passports, visit www.travel.state.gov/passport.
