The Handshake of History

BRITISH Prime Minister Tony Blair, on a visit to the North nearly a decade ago, spoke about feeling the hand of history on his shoulder. That was back in April 1998 when he was desperately trying to keep the peace process on the road after David Trimble’s Unionists, under pressure from Ian Paisley, had rejected the Mitchell document on the future of the North.
