The lives of Camila O'Gorman, her lover Fr Uladislao Gutiérrez and
their unborn child came to a violent end on 18 August 1848. That morning,
Fr Castellanos, prison chaplain in the town of Santos Lugares, Argentina,
visited the twenty year old Camila in prison. She and Uladislao, a Catholic
priest, had been captured a short time previously and lodged in separate
cells.
