Turf Cutting in rural Ireland
I have very fond memories of going to the bog with my father and brother cutting turf many years ago. Our bank of turf (a bank refers to a small individual piece of bog in a large bog ) was is located near Ennistymon (County Clare) and like most bogs was situated in a beautiful rural setting far removed from civilization.
