The Fortune Teller Told Me

It's that time of year when ghosts and goblins wander the streets, adults wear strange clothing to work and pumpkin carving is at an all time high. I ran into a fortune teller who whispered in my ear, "You will take a cruise soon." Ha! I thought. I've never really taken a cruise. I'm living far from the ocean I love, and my husband hasn't taken a vacation in over a year.

It's Halloween. It has rained all day. A bunch of boys have been madly working since 8 this morning to get ready. I have a a pirate, a pumpkin head creature, a fisherman, wonder woman, a doctor and more teenagers in costumes in the rec room, a haunted house in the garage and a graveyard in the front yard......pizza on the table along with munchies, candy, soda and cookies.....they're playing xbox band with guitars and drums, shooting pool and playing loud music----priceless to
